In addition to the external grind adjustment ring, the Opus uses an internal fine-tuning mechanism. For espresso, you should start at the lower end of the external ring and, if necessary, adjust internally to precisely hit your shot time and flow.
This is often due to excessively large grind size steps without fine-tuning, or to static electricity. Use the internal adjustment and, if necessary, a slight RDT (Ross Droplet Technique - a drop of water) to improve consistency.
Yes – especially with the blow-out feature, it works well for single dosing. For maximum precision, it is recommended to precisely weigh the amount of beans.
